MIDI module for building own DIY MIDI switcher of loops and other signals. It is supplied without relays, only with cables that are connected to open-collector transistor switches - Darlingtons. Each transistor can switch up to 0,5 A.
We use this module in our loop switchers MIDI Agente Relay Loop. Example of using the switches:
- 8 loop switches
- 4 amplifier channels switches
- 1 switch of optional preamplifier
... but it can be connected quite arbitrarily.
The module is supplied with front and back panel (photo is being prepared). The front panel includes buttons and display, the back panel includes MIDI connectors and supply socket. So the user can mount both panels in own enclosure without need of precise milling.
Any combination of the switches can be programmed on any of 128 programs. The programs are invoked by PROGRAM CHANGE
MIDI message. Each switch can be controlled even individually by CONTROL CHANGE
MIDI messages.
Manual
The control principle is the same for all our MIDI relay products. Please see the manual for MIDI Agente Relay Plus. All necessary programming be carried out on the midi module.
Connection with user application
Output connector
The signals on the output connector are following:
- +5V: power supply for relays
- Gnd: global digital ground
- Cli: a short pulse is available on this pin on every change of the status of the relays
- GndA: ground for analogue circuits
- R1 - R8, RA- RD, RX: open-collector outputs for relays
User application
Build your user relay circuit according to this simple example:
The relay can be any type (SPDT, DTPT etc.). The only restriction is that its input voltage must be 5V, max. current 500mA per relay.
Power supply
Recommended input voltage is +9V, supply connector 5.5/2.1 mm, any polarity. The input voltage is stabilised to +5V on the module. The +5V power supply is the same as the processor is supplied with. The power supply adapter is not included. It is necessary to dimension it according to the current draw of the relays that you will control by the module.
